Distributed Optimization With Event-Triggered Communication via Input Feedforward Passivity

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this letter, we address the distributed optimization problem with event-triggered communication by notion of input feedforward passivity (IFP). First, analyze continuous-time algorithm over uniformly jointly strongly connected balanced digraphs in an IFP-based framework. Then, propose a mechanism for algorithm. Next, discretize forward Euler method constant stepsize irrelevant to network size, and show that discretization can be seen as stepsize-dependent degradation passivity. Thus, discretized system preserves IFP property enables same but without Zeno behavior due discrete-time nature. Finally, numerical example is presented illustrate our results.

A class of distributed optimization methods with event-triggered communication

We present a class of methods for distributed optimization with event-triggered communication. To this end, we extend Nesterov’s first order scheme to use event-triggered communication in a networked environment. We then apply this approach to generalize the proximal center algorithm (PCA) for separable convex programs by Necoara and Suykens. Our method uses dual decomposition and applies the d...

Distributed Linear Programming with Event-Triggered Communication

We consider a network of agents whose objective is for the aggregate of their states to converge to a solution of a linear program in standard form. Each agent has limited information about the problem data and can communicate with other agents at discrete time instants of their choosing. Our main contribution is the synthesis of a distributed dynamics and a set of state-based rules, termed tri...

Event-Triggered Optimization

This section introduces an event-triggered distributed algorithm that solves network utility maximization (NUM) problems in large-scale networked systems [18, 17]. Existing distributed algorithms for the NUM problem are gradient-based schemes whose convergence to the optimal point provided the communication between subsystems is sufficiently frequent. Analytic bounds on the communication interv...

Distributed and event-triggered optimization in multi-agent networks

This thesis is concerned with the development of distributed optimization methods with adaptive step-size control and event-triggered communication, where the focus is on convex optimization problems with either nonseparable objective function but separable constraints or separable objective function but couplings in the constraints. Regarding a practice related application of the developed alg...

Passivity Analysis and Passivation of Interconnected Event-Triggered Feedback Systems Using Passivity Indices

In this paper, passivity and passivation problems for event-triggered feedback interconnected systems are addressed. We consider passivity in two event-triggered control schemes based on the location of the event-triggered samplers: sampler at plant output and sampler at controller output. For both schemes, we first derive the conditions to characterize the level of passivity for the interconne...
